My name is Gabrielle Clarke and I am a twenty-two year old from New England and a graduate student of Preservation Design at the Savannah campus of Savannah College of Art and Design. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Sustainable Design at West Virginia University in May 2016. I have been influenced by the many historical properties that have surrounded me in my youth.
My passions are Historic Preservation and Sustainable construction, both I plan to merge in my future career. I am a very hands-on person and I’m not afraid to get dirty, climb a ladder or take charge of projects. In the summer of 2016 I spent a month in Sitka, Alaska as a Historic Restoration Intern, helping to restore the facade of Whitmore Hall at the Sitka Fine Arts Camp (link for internship at bottom of page).
I am an avid learner and love working with others to solve problems. I give my best in getting my work done to a high standard and like to get my facts straight. I am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge in both my field and in life and on ways to better myself. My goals are to remain hands-on in the process to preserve or restore residential and commercial structures from start to finish. From conditions assessment to finishing touches, I feel every aspect of my work is important to me and must be completed accurately to the given project.
